Random Thoughts (Seven)
We did not go to the Jet/Dolphins game today. (So, Matt, I'll see you at Phil's party. For a while anyway.) Had a hard time connecting with the person running the bus trip and didn't feel comfortable giving him over one thousand dollars for the five of us who were going. If you say you are going to meet some one at a certain time and place, be there. Not a good way to run a business and develop trust. The weather has warmed a bit but it is raining so I'll just have to watch it in the comfort of my warm, dry home.
Speaking of weather, the Midwest of the US is being clobbered by a blizzard. Over 20 inches of snow has fallen with wind-chills 20-30 degrees below zero. We could all use some of that global warming now, couldn't we. I take it things are still frigid in Europe as well. Remember, this is only mid December. The worst is yet to come.
As a Red Sox fan I would love to see pitcher Cliff Lee stay in Texas. The worm has certainly turned for the Red Sox in their ongoing off-season rivalry with the Yanks. I guess the late George Steinbrenner had much to do with convincing free agents to come to NY as any one in the Yankee front office. Well, it's too early to gloat, but it would be nice to see the Yanks squirm a bit.
The past week, this blog had first time visitors from Argentina, Vietnam, Portugal, and the Seychelles. I still am amazed by the power of the internet. Let's hope it remains free. I just can't watch TV news or rely on newspapers for information any more.
Remember, if you are still looking for some good reading material for Christmas, "The Creature From Jekyll Island" and "JFK and the Unspeakable" are two of the best books I've read this past year. Jesse Ventura's "American Conspiracies" is pretty informative as well.
Until I have another original thought, Peace and stay warm.
