"Positive Hit" for Possible Explosives Shuts Down Newark Terminal
Police are investigating reports of a suspicious package at Newark Liberty International Airport after TSA employees detected a "positive hit" for possible explosives in a bag in a bag room, NBCNewYork has learned.
Terminal A has been shut down out of an abundance of precaution. The Essex County bomb squad and Port Authority police were called in to investigate.
Officials say it's too early to know what -- if anything -- is in the bag.
The investigation is ongoing.
