Deconstructing Whiteness for Higher Education
Karen De Coster
Northwestern University, considered an elite educational institution, is offering a “Deconstructing Whiteness” course for its students who pay between $50,000 – $70,000 per year for an undergraduate degree. This is described as a “6-part workshop series for undergraduate students who self-identify as white.” Students may not opt out of any of the six parts once they sign up. These $70k/year academic scholars will learn what it means to be white and why they have to feel guilty about being white. Me – no guilt at all. I can just blame my white parents.
