A web of lies and deception...

France Claims to Bomb Terrorists It Has Supported in Syria

Brandon Turbeville

In what should come as no surprise to anyone even slightly familiar with the crisis in Syria and the recent Paris attacks, only the two days after the act of terror, itself a Western-backed false flag attack, the French government has now announced a massive air strike campaign in Syria allegedly directed at the Islamic State.

According to the French Defense Ministry, ten planes have been involved in the operation which France claims has been focused in the de facto capitol of the Islamic State in Raqqa.

French claims of antipathy toward the Islamic State should be taken with a grain of salt since it has long supported ISIS in Syria under the guise of supporting the non-existent moderate rebels.

After all, it was reported early on in the Syrian destabilization effort that 13 French military officers acting as mercenaries/death squad participants were captured by the Syrian government, all the while the mainstream Western media reported the events as “peaceful protest” and a grassroots level organic Syrian uprising against an oppressive regime.

Around the same time, hacked emails obtained by Anonymous in December 2011 and released by WikiLeaks in steady drips ever since February 27, 2012, revealed that NATO troops, including those from the US, UK, and France, were likely already operating inside Syria. The emails were obtained from the private U.S. intelligence firm, Stratfor, and were apparently sent by Stratfor’s Director of Analysis, Reva Bhalla (bhalla@stratfor.com) and contain discussion of a December confidential Pentagon meeting which was attended “by senior analysts from the US Air Force, and representatives from its chief allies, France and the United Kingdom. Tellingly, the email’s author stated that US officials “said without saying that SOF [special operation forces] teams (presumably from the US, UK, France, Jordan and Turkey) are already on the ground, focused on recce [reconnaissance] missions and training opposition forces.” Later in the email, it was stated that “the idea ‘hypothetically’ is to commit guerrilla attacks, assassination campaigns, try to break the back of the Alawite forces, elicit collapse from within.” This should come as no surprise since Western troops and intelligence agents maintained a heavy presence inside Libya during the destruction of that nation, increasing their presence as the destabilization and subsequent invasion succeeded.

It should also be remembered that the ridiculous “red line” talk regarding the use of chemical weapons by the Syrian government – a propaganda line that was thoroughly discredited and disproven when it was revealed that it was not the Syrian government but the so-called rebels who committed the chemical weapons attack – was not only repeated by the warmongers in the U.S. government, but also by French President Hollande.

Hollande has long called for Bashar al-Assad to step down or be removed from power even allowing his foreign minister Lourent Fabius to call for Assad’s “elimination.” After the August 2013 chemical weapons attack that was committed by Syrian terrorists backed by the United States and NATO (who assisted in the process), Hollande was out in front with the French military prepared to invade and lead the charge against the secular Syrian government.

Now, Hollande is claiming that the recent attacks committed by France and Syria will be both massive and merciless, the latter a concept that Hollande and France know well since they have engaged in a merciless campaign against the Syrian people for at least four years.

The day after the attacks, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad stated that, “Yesterday France has known what we have been living in Syria over the past five years.” Assad’s statements should hit home with a touch of irony since it is France that is partly responsible for the conditions under which Syrians currently suffer.

Thus, Hollande’s words ring alarmingly hollow as does the sound of the French bombing campaign in Raqqa. It is much more likely that France is attempting to gain a foothold in Syria using the Paris attacks as a pretext, the fear of the French public for domestic support and the sympathy of the world as a pass to enter into Syria as an invading force. Dropping a few bombs in the desert with no evidence beyond words to prove that bombs have actually fallen on the jihadists it has supported for at least five years, seems merely an attempt to entrench a NATO military presence in Syria by any means necessary.

If France wanted to deal a death blow to the Islamic State it would be bomb the “safe zone” in northern Syria between Azaz and Jarablus and cut the supply lines coming from Turkey. The last terrorist bottleneck would be closed and the Islamic State would collapse in the face of the true coalition fighting ISIS and Syria – the Syrian government, Russia, Hezbollah and Iran. If France wished to join the civilized world, then surely it would be welcome. Unfortunately, the proof is in the pudding and the dish being served by France has a truly rotten odor.
