Celebrations staged? How did anyone know what the POTUS was going to say?
ACROSS the US, crowds converged in public places even before President Barack Obama announced the death of Osama bin Laden in a hurriedly organised address to the nation.
Starting with just a few dozen people waving flags and chanting "USA", the crowd quickly built to hundreds outside the White House, many with US national flags, punching the air and singing The Star Spangled Banner in what rapidly became a party atmosphere as Mr Obama confirmed details.
