"Clinton has no qualms about the Patriot Act and when Edward Snowden revealed that the NSA was spying on all American citizens, Clinton said the whistleblower was on the side of terrorists. So did Cheney."

If liberals despised Bush-Cheney, why are they so excited for Hillary?

Liberal hatred for George W. Bush was first and foremost focused on that administration’s foreign and national security policies. Liberals hated the Iraq War. Liberals hated the Patriot Act. Liberals hated the neoconservatives.

Some might say “hate” is too strong a word. It isn’t. Liberals absolutely despised Bush. And it was visceral.

Hillary Clinton announced she was running for president on Sunday, energizing Democrats who are now “Ready for Hillary.”

But ready for what exactly? For a female Democratic president that has foreign policy positions similar to Dubya and a view of the Bill of Rights on par with Dick Cheney?

Hillary might regret her vote for the Iraq War (yet, she still voted for it), but she certainly hasn’t regretted being, unflinchingly, for every American-led intervention since, as she fully endorsed U.S. wars in Libya and Syria.

She’s been hawkish enough to earn the respect and admiration of many of the neoconservatives who staffed and advised the Bush administration. Prominent neoconservative Fred Kagan told the New York Times in June:

“I feel comfortable with her on foreign policy.” Mr. Kagan said… “If she pursues a policy which we think she will pursue,” he added, “it’s something that might have been called neocon, but clearly her supporters are not going to call it that; they are going to call it something else.”

Left-leaning, Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Glenn Greenwald has been even more blunt, calling Clinton a “neocon,” emphasizing that “She’s a f*cking hawk.”

Clinton has no qualms about the Patriot Act and when Edward Snowden revealed that the NSA was spying on all American citizens, Clinton said the whistleblower was on the side of terrorists. So did Cheney.

In September, Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough said “Hillary’s a neocon… She and Bill Kristol could write a book together.” “There has not been a war since the 1990s that Hillary Clinton hasn’t supported,” Scarborough added.

“Bush lied, people died,” the left used to chant in the streets. And now some of those same anti-war activists are likely gearing up for Hillary 2016 as we speak.

It was the protesters who lied. They never had a problem with mindless war or undermining the Bill of Rights. They just had a problem with Republicans doing it.
