Global glacier melt is slowing down

Many of the world ice sheets are getting smaller, but they melt more slowly than expected. At the poles are melting the glaciers more stable than in previous years, in the highlands outside Antarctica and Greenland, it is only half as fast as assumed in the Himalayas and the Alps since 2003 they are almost barely thawed.
