Chinese workers experiencing what American workers had to deal with a century ago...

Chinese Workers at Nike Shoe Factory Clash with Police

Over 7,000 workers at a factory in Dongguan in the Guangdong province of China went on strike, seeking better wages, reports the China Post.

Several dozen workers were hurt when police tried to break up a blockade of the main road to the Yucheng factory which produces shoes for Nike, Adidas, and New Balance.-

The owner of the factory is Pou Chen Corp, a leading contract footwear maker.

These types of strikes are most common during periods of high price inflation, which China is experiencing now. Although official Chinese statistics show price inflation of around 6%. The number and intensity of strikes and unrest being reported in China, suggests the inflation is much higher.
