4.3 quake hits near Mt. St. Helens

A 4.3 earthquake hit the Mt. St. Helens area about 10:35 a.m. Monday, followed by two more minutes later at magnitude 2.5 and 2.3.

The first quake was reported initially as a 3.3 magnitude quake.

The 4.3 quake happened at 10:35 a.m. and 25 seconds about six miles north and northwest of the volcano.

It was followed by a 2.5 quake at 10:37 and 45 seconds about seven miles north and northwest of the volcano.

A third quake of 2.3 was recorded at 11:35 and 8 seconds about six miles north and northwest of the volanco.
