After 12 Months Some Homeowners Still Haven't Received $8000 Homebuyer Tax Credit
Personal Finance Blog, ChristianPF.com published an article discussing how some of the homebuyers who filed for the $8000 first time homebuyer tax credit have been waiting for over 12 months without receiving their payment from the IRS. Apparently homebuyers who filed an amended tax return were told they would receive their payment within 6-8 weeks. According to one homeowner who has been trying to get the status of his first-time homebuyer tax credit, "The IRS is now generating standard form letters every 30 days telling me that if I don't receive any info from them in the next 30 days to call them."
As a result some homeowners are losing hope - as they have no idea when their payment from the IRS might show up. So while the $8000 and $6500 tax credit were meant to ease a burden for homeowners, it looks like it may have made things worse for homeowners depending on that money to pay bills.
