Viva, Las Freezes...

You wouldn't bet on that! Las Vegas endures coldest ever New Year's Eve

Las Vegas ushered in 2011 with its coldest ever New Year's Eve as plummeting temperatures continued to cause havoc across the U.S.

Revellers in Sin City were left shivering as temperatures dropped yesterday to just 38 degrees - well below the previous New Year's record of 45 degrees, set in 1975.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service predicted temperatures in Vegas would plummet to 28 degrees as the clock struck midnight.

Many parts of the West Coast faced a New Year whiteout today as heavy snow and strong winds has shut down major roads.
