Getting it all backwards...on purpose of course

If they only gave some of the trillions that they gave to the banks to those who faced foreclosure, they would have been able to pay their mortgages, which would have provided money to the banks that the banks ultimately received in the bailout. In a sense the money would have trickled up to the banks. The common folk would not be forced to move out into the streets and the banks would have gotten the funds to help them recover from their bad decisions. But no. We gave all the money to those at the top and handed scraps to the rest in programs like this. This is just another example of the biggest theft in world history.

Borrowers exit troubled Obama mortgage program

Borrowers face foreclosure after Obama loan assistance program fails to provide help

The Obama administration's flagship effort to help people in danger of losing their homes is falling flat.

More than a third of the 1.24 million borrowers who have enrolled in the $75 billion mortgage modification program have dropped out. That exceeds the number of people who have managed to have their loan payments reduced to help them keep their homes.

Last month alone,155,000 borrowers left the program -- bringing the total to 436,000 who have dropped out since it began in March 2009.

About 340,000 homeowners have received permanent loan modifications and are making payments on time.
