Economy Needs To Create 235K Jobs A Month To Return To Pre-Depression Levels By End Of Obama Second Term

When we last ran this number, the economy needed to create 232,400 jobs per month to get to the same unemployment rate as last seen in December 2007, just before the depression started, courtesy of today's massive disappointment we can now increase the creation requirement to 235,120. As a reminder this is the number of jobs per month that need to be created between December 2010 and November 2016, or the end of Obama's now improbable second term, for jobs to recover their losses when taking into account the natural growth of the labor force of 90,000 people per month.

Bush reaction: the very odd behaviour of a president on 9/11

“America is under attack.”

These were the words spoken by White House chief of staff Andrew Card to President George W. Bush as he sat in a Florida classroom just after 9 a.m. on Sept. 11, 2001. Bush had been listening as the students read a story called The Pet Goat.

The moment was immortalized for comedic effect in Michael Moore’s documentary Fahrenheit 911. Bush looked stunned and confused: like he had no idea what to do. After a few agonizing seconds, he reached for the book and began following along. He sat there for approximately eight minutes reading while all hell was breaking loose in the skies.

But to focus on how incompetent he looked is to risk missing the real point. He may have been in over his head, but there are more serious implications of his behaviour than just incompetence.

Let’s look at Bush’s reaction in context: by the time he received the news from Card, it was known to his top advisors that two hijacked airliners had been flown into the two towers of the World Trade Center. They also knew that a third plane was off course, out of contact, and presumed to be hijacked. It could have been heading to the White House, the Capital Building, or even to Booker Elementary School in Sarasota, Florida where Bush and the kids were reading.

Bush’s schedule had been public for several days, so there was no way to know whether terrorists intended to target him at the school. His life could have been in danger, to say nothing of the lives of the children.

Did he then move swiftly to a waiting car so that he could take charge of the response to this catastrophic attack? No, he remained at the school for another 20 minutes, making a brief scheduled speech before leaving the school. The time now was 9:30 a.m.

Incredibly, he seemed to feel no need to respond to the crisis. And neither did his staff. When Card informed Bush that the second tower had been hit, he didn’t wait for a response or for instructions. He didn’t suggest the president leave immediately. He moved away.

Did the Secret Service leap into action to get him to safety without delay? No, they let him continue listening to The Pet Goat.

The real question is whether his reaction – or non reaction – to news of the unfolding terrorist attacks meant that he knew what was going to happen before it did. He didn’t have to rush out of the school because he knew there was no further danger.

Things are getting hot in Moscow while global warming precautions take affect in Great Britain...

Over 60 people injured from frost bites in Moscow

A total of 64 people suffered from hyperthermia and frost bites amid harsh frosts in Moscow from November 28 to December 1, the Moscow government information centre reported with the reference to the Moscow health department on Friday.

Some 31 people turned for the medical aid with hyperthermia cases, 22 of them were brought to the city hospitals. Some 33 people suffered from frost bites, 31 people were hospitalized. Moreover, nine people died of overcooling. Most lethal cases are homeless people.

The average air temperature was keeping at 20 degrees below zero in the Moscow Region in the last few days. The weathermen forecast higher air temperatures of up to ten degrees below zero on Friday and two degrees below zero on Saturday.

The Beginning of the End

It all began in the early part of the 20th century. In 1907, J.P. Morgan, a private New York banker, published a rumor that a competing unnamed large bank was about to fail. It was a false charge but customers nonetheless raced to their banks to withdraw their money, in case it was their bank. As they pulled out their funds, the banks lost their cash deposits and were forced to call in their loans. People therefore had to pay back their mortgages to fill the banks with income, going bankrupt in the process. The 1907 panic resulted in a crash that prompted the creation of the Federal Reserve, a private banking cartel with the veneer of an independent government organization. Effectively, it was a coup by elite bankers in order to control the industry.

When signed into law in 1913, the Federal Reserve would loan and supply the nation’s money, but with interest. The more money it was able to print, the more "income" it generated for itself. By its very nature, the Federal Reserve would forever keep producing debt to stay alive. It was able to print America’s monetary supply at will, regulating its value. To control valuation, however, inflation had to be kept in check.

The Federal Reserve then doubled America’s money supply within five years, and in 1920, it called in a mass percentage of loans. Over five thousand banks collapsed overnight. One year later, the Federal Reserve again increased the money supply by 62 percent, but in 1929, it again called the loans back in, en masse.[2] This time, the crash of 1929 caused over sixteen thousand banks to fail and an 89 percent plunge on the stock market.[3] The private and well-protected banks within the Federal Reserve system were able to snap up the failed banks at pennies on the dollar.

The nation fell into the Great Depression and in April 1933, President Roosevelt issued an executive order that confiscated all gold bullion from the public. Those who refused to turn in their gold would be imprisoned for ten years, and by the end of the year the gold standard was abolished.[4] What had been redeemable for gold became paper "legal tender", and gold could no longer be exchanged for cash as it had once been.

Later, in 1971, President Nixon removed the dollar from the gold standard altogether, therefore no longer trading at the internationally fixed price of 35 dollars. The U.S. dollar was now worth whatever the U.S. decided it was worth because it was "as good as gold". It had no standard of measure and became the universal currency. Treasury bills (short-term notes) and bonds (long-term notes) replaced gold as value, promissory notes of the U.S. government and paid for by the taxpayer. Additionally, gold could not be traced because it was exempt from currency reporting requirements, unlike the fiduciary (i.e. that based upon trust) monetary systems of the West. That was not in America’s best interest.

After the Great Depression, private banks remained afraid to make home loans, so Roosevelt created Fannie Mae. A state-supported mortgage bank, it provided federal funding to finance home mortgages for affordable housing. In 1968, President Johnson privatized Fannie Mae, and in 1970, Freddie Mac was created to compete with Fannie Mae. Both of them bought mortgages from banks and other lenders and sold them on to new investors.

The Spanish government approved new austerity measures and a limited economic stimulus package to ease investor fears about its debt – and insisted again it was taking strong steps to right its ailing economy.

Markets responded positively to Friday's actions after weeks of turmoil, but the country was thrown into chaos again after air traffic controllers unexpectedly staged a massive sickout just hours after top government officials endorsed a move to partially privatize key airports.

At least 200,000 travelers were stranded on the eve of a long holiday weekend. Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero ordered the military to take over air traffic control, but there was no immediate information when flights would resume.

There are two opinions of Wikileaks. The worlds intelligence services all, every single one, believes Wikileaks is simply an intelligence agency playing games. They say this to each other, Vladimir Putin and Zbigniew Brzezinski have announced it to the world and others are following suit.

Nobody, at least nobody typically “answerable” will say the word “Israel” but it is what they mean when they say “intelligence agency.” They mean Israel. Every Wikileak does something to help Israel in a different way at a different time. If Israel has a problem, a Wikileak is there., part of the solution. This time, Secretary Clinton was in the way and Wikileaks showed up to gut the State Department and give Israel the usual “buff and polish” job they usually do.

There is another group, not a group that actually believes Wikileaks is real, few but the “Joe Six-Pack” crowd buys that, but a group that loves Wikileaks like an addict loves a fix. The press loves Wikileaks. I even love Wikileaks. Wikileaks is pushing readership through the roof, not just America but worldwide. Wikileaks is a news marketing phenomenon like any disaster. There is a reason the media are compared to vultures and hyenas.

Killing Wikileaks as the hoax it is, and not a harmless hoax, not by a long shot, is like killing the golden goose. Wikileaks sells news, pulls up website traffic to unimaginable levels, even crashes servers from overload. There isn’t just one story, teaching the world how bad America is, there is also the daytime TV drama, the soap opera of Julian Assange.

I wonder when the public will pick up on the endless stream of carefully posed, carefully staged photos. Just imagine meeting Assange, hiding from Interpol, running for his life, the CIA hunting him down, angry “date rape’ victims lurking the streets of London and Amsterdam. He always has time for the media, never misses an interview.

The vast majority of Americans have at least one family member or close friend that is looking for work right now. Times are really, really tough and unfortunately the long-term outlook is very bleak. We should have compassion on those who are out of work right now, because soon many of us may join them.

The following are 25 unemployment statistics that are almost too depressing to read....

#1 According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the U.S. unemployment rate for November was 9.8 percent. This was up from 9.6 percent in October, and it continues a trend of depressingly high unemployment rates. The official unemployment number has been at 9.5 percent or higher for well over a year at this point.

#2 In November 2006, the "official" U.S. unemployment rate was just 4.5 percent.

#3 Most economists had been expecting the U.S. economy to add about 150,000 jobs in November. Instead, it only added 39,000.

#4 In the United States today, there are over 15 million people who are "officially" considered to be unemployed for statistical purposes. But everyone knows that the "real" number is even much larger than that.

#5 As 2007 began, there were just over 1 million Americans that had been unemployed for half a year or longer. Today, there are over 6 million Americans that have been unemployed for half a year or longer.

#6 The number of "persons not in the labor force" in the United States recently set another new all-time record.

#7 It now takes the average unemployed American over 33 weeks to find a job.

#8 When you throw in "discouraged workers" and "underemployed workers", the "real" unemployment rate in the state of California is actually about 22 percent.

#9 In America today there are not nearly enough jobs for everyone. In fact, there are now approximately 5 unemployed Americans for every single job opening.

#10 According to The New York Times, Americans that have been unemployed for five weeks or less are three times more likely to find a new job in the coming month than Americans that have been unemployed for over a year.

Conspiracies are as old as man. In fact, they predate man. It was a conspiracy in Heaven that led to the present mess we currently have in this world...

Thank God for conspiracies. Aren’t you grateful that:

• That the Founding Fathers conspired to form this nation.
• That the Wright brothers conspired against gravity.
• That Thomas Edison conspired against darkness.
• That Science conspired against diseases.

They were probably all ridiculed in their day. I am sure that Louis Pasteur was laughed at when he came up with the theory of the existence of germs. I bet all of the “journals of blood-letting” peer-reviewed his work and declared him to be a kook. Eighteen-sixty wasn’t that long ago, you know? I wonder what Pasteur would think about Global Warming?

All conspiracies begin as a theory. It is the sharing and discussion of the theory that makes it a conspiracy. When science does it, it is called experimentation, historians call it research, the media calls it investigative journalism, but when everyday citizens ask questions they are called kooks.

Look, all conspiracies begin as theories, ideas. It is the sharing of, the discussion about, and the research related to it that creates a conspiracy. It was a theory about life on the moon that launched the conspiracy known as the Apollo Project.

James Naismith had a theory about exercise and entertainment. He hung a peach basket on the wall and men have conspired ever since to improve basketball.

In its purest sense, a conspiracy is an organized, shared, search for truth. The “conspiracy” about the murder of John Kennedy is nothing more than a search for truth. In today’s culture anyone who questions the veracity of anything involving the government is labeled a “conspiracy theorist.”
That is an oxymoron because a conspiracy requires a theory.

Didn’t the Warren Commission come up with a “magic bullet theory”? How come anyone who questions that theory is a “conspiracy wacko?” The origin of man is still nothing more than a theory known as macro-evolution. Why aren’t those who support this fairy tale called “evolutionary conspiracy theorists”? Why are Bible-believers the ones called kooks?

Is it just me, or does it seem as if in America, anyone who questions established government dogma, or established scientific theory, becomes the target of ridicule by establishment forces?

But that is a conspiracy too, is it not? The media, I am referring to. Wasn’t it the media that told us Oswald acted alone, Global warming was real, no one had pre-warning of the attack on Pearl Harbor, that religion had no place in the public discourse, and that Obama would save America?

See, that is the problem in this nation. The American people have been persuaded not to question establishment “experts”. Only “wackos” don’t follow the company line. Perhaps I am wrong, but isn’t a football huddle a conspiracy?

...Do you believe anything the government tells you? Can you give me a good reason why we should? Wasn’t it the head of the government (Reagan) himself who exhorted us to “trust but verify.” The “government” is full of goons and scallywags who are hell-bent on protecting their own asses. Liars lie. It is their nature. As George Orwell so adequately coined it “During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act."

Now the “government class” is screaming over the release of the documents by Wikileaks. They warn us that it will put our troops in danger, that the leaks will harm foreign policy, that we will lose the trust of many of our allies.

Really? As a poker-playing friend of mine once warned me “There is no honor among thieves.” Government is a den of thieves. They are only upset that they have been exposed for what they are.

“We the people” have lost our government. That is not a conspiracy theory, it is a conspiracy fact. The group of liars on the Potomac are representatives of a different kingdom. They merely steal our money to advance their sinister agenda.

“I did not have sex with that woman… Social security is safe and funded into the next generation…Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction…Man is destroying the environment…We have seen the birth certificate…The Federal Reserve knows what they are doing…Zionism is a lie…The Towers fell on their own…The dollar is stable…There is no inflation…The banks are safe…Goldman Sachs has your best interests at heart…Obama is not a Muslim…Porn scanners at the airport keep us safe…We can spend our way out of debt..There is a separation between the church and the state…Unborn babies are not people…Secret Societies have no impact on American policy…Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain…”

I may have born at night, but it wasn’t last night.

Remember how they laughed at Ron Paul three years ago when he talked about the FED and monetary policy? Remember how Al Gore laughed when we questioned man made global warming? Remember the cat-calls from Barney Frank when we said there was a real estate bubble? Remember their howls when we pointed out that we were shipping all of our jobs overseas?

Don’t ever stop thinking. Don’t ever stop asking questions. Don’t ever stop pointing out the fly in the ointment. Secrecy is the birthing room of tyranny.

If it doesn’t pass the smell test, don’t let them ridicule you into silence. Silence is submission.

I Keep Telling You It’s Getting Colder!

It’s not supposed to be so cold and snowy so early in the winter when the world is thought to be warming. Eminent scientists are not supposed to turn their backs on the lying press and government to tell us it’s getting colder, not warmer. The entire discussion has us in the Twilight Zone with the global warmers and coolers still in heated conversation. The press’s most recent broadside entitled “World warmer, short-term trends need study: report”stated:

The global average temperature has increased over the past 160 years, but short-term trends in temperature and sea ice seem to be at odds with each other and need more research, the UK Met Office’s Hadley Center said. In a report on long- and short-term climate trends, the Hadley Center found several factors that indicate a warming world and said 2010 has been one of the warmest years on record. The report drew on the work of more than 20 institutions worldwide and used a range of measurements from satellites, weather balloons, weather stations, ocean buoys, ships, and field surveys.

One of the warmest years on record – are we to believe this? If global warming was such a slam dunk, why are they now tipping their hands mentioning the colder short-term trend? How can they define what is going on as a short-term trend when the future is not written yet?

Stockholm is forecast to experience its coldest seasonal temperatures
for over 100 years this week as winter weather takes hold of the
country, according to the Swedish Meteorological Institute.

With Republican control of the House, Ron Paul, as senior member of the House Financial Services subcommittee that oversees monetary policy, is scheduled to become chairman of that subcommittee .

The banking elitists that were thrown billions upon billion by Ben Bernanke and the Federal Reserve sure don't want the real supervision that Ron Paul would bring. And they are plotting.

Write Phil Mattingly and Robert Schmidt at Newsweek:

Officials at several major banks have privately raised concerns with Republican leaders that, by allowing Paul to become a chairman, his radical views would gain legitimacy, according to three bank lobbyists...Five GOP leadership aides, speaking anonymously because a decision isn't final, say incoming House Speaker John Boehner has discussed ways to prevent Paul from becoming chairman or to keep him on a tight leash if he does.

Mattingly and Schmidt continue:

If Boehner, who will help determine who gets to chair subcommittees as early as Dec. 8, rejects Paul, he may have to contend with thousands of grassroots supporters and dozens of younger lawmakers who see Paul as a hero. Boehner, through a spokesman, declined to comment.

If Boehner as much as takes away Paul's bathroom privileges, there is likely going to be serious hell to pay. There is no way Ron Paul's followers will take any messing around with Paul's chairmanship or the power that now comes to the subcommittee. All they need is a cause to rally around, and messing with Ron Paul would be such a cause. Boehner would be a very wise man to move on and pick on somebody that isn't principled and who doesn't have a following many, many times greater than those who participated in the original Boston Tea Party.

WHY AN UNDERWEAR BOMBER TRIAL WITH AN ENTRAPMENT DEFENSE WOULD BE ONE OF THE GREATEST EVENTS IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

It has been nearly nine months since Lori and I were almost killed by the Underwear Bomber, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab. For the first few months, Lori and I were very vocal over the media blackout and corresponding cover up to the real story of the Christmas Day events. If anyone is not familiar with our experience, our story can be read here in this blog. For the past few months, we have chosen to sit back and watch as the trial, or lack thereof, plays out in the courthouse we regularly practice in. While the media blackout to the true events continues, the failed attack on our credibility has been replaced with deafening silence as to our eyewitness account. To us, this matter has never been about seeking vengeance against the Underwear Bomber. When taking our eyewitness account and adding it to the small amount of honest facts that have come out, one can only recognize the Underwear Bomber as a mere patsy. It is quite shocking that, thus far, the Underwear Bomber hasn't been forever silenced as other patsies that have come before him.

It seems to me, that now that the Underwear Bomber is representing himself, or possibly using new attorneys, that the use of an entrapment defense is not out of the question. The use of such a defense could be one of the greatest moments in the history of the United States of America. Only through a defense such as this, could the full involvement of the U.S. Government be fully discovered and divulged. Please consider the following:

1. The Underwear Bomber was escorted through security without a passport by the Sharp Dressed Man who by all accounts, appears to be a government agent.
2. Congressional hearings have confirmed that the Underwear Bomber was likely let on flight 253 intentionally.
3. The bomb failed to detonate, and by many accounts, was designed so that it would not detonate.
4. The entire terrorist attack was filmed from before it started until after it ended.
5. The bomb was obtained in Yemen where the CIA has been known to have agents interacting with Al Qaeda.

UN & Big Business Call for Global Light Bulb Ban to Save Climate

The United Nations and its corporate allies called for a global ban on incandescent light bulbs and kerosene lamps Wednesday at the COP16 global-warming summit in Cancun, claiming in a new study that “energy-efficient” lights would reduce the amount of carbon dioxide emissions. “Among the low hanging fruit in the climate change challenge, a switch to far more efficient lighting must rank as among the lowest,” said UN Environment Program (UNEP) chief Achim Steiner. “Efficient lighting systems is one path that is literally available at the flip of a policy switch.”

According to the report released by the UNEP, the Global Environment Facility (GEF), and two lighting-industry giants during a presentation at the climate summit, the move would reduce the world’s lighting-related electricity demand by about two percent. The paper also claimed a global ban would save money.

“We need to cut the use of kerosene for lighting," demanded chief “sustainability” officer Wolfgang Gregor of Osram, one of the world’s largest lighting manufacturers, during a news conference. “OSRAM has given its firm commitment to the … initiative, as well as to combating the use of kerosene,” he added. His company, along with lighting behemoth Philips, also worked on the UN report.

Joe Lieberman emulates Chinese dictators

Note that Lieberman here is desperate to prevent American citizens -- not The Terrorists -- from reading the WikiLeaks documents which shed light on what the U.S. Government is doing. His concern is domestic consumption. By his own account, he did this to "send a message to other companies that might host WikiLeaks" not to do so. No matter what you think of WikiLeaks, they have never been charged with, let alone convicted of, any crime; Lieberman literally wants to dictate -- unilaterally -- what you can and cannot read on the Internet, to prevent Americans from accessing documents that much of the rest of the world is freely reading.

The Internet, of course, is rendering decrepit would-be petty tyrants like Lieberman impotent and obsolete: WikiLeaks moved its website to a Swedish server and was accessible again within hours. But any attempt by political officials to start blocking Americans' access to political content on the Internet ought to provoke serious uproar and unrest. If the Tea Party movement and the Right generally were even minimally genuine in their ostensible beliefs, few things would trigger more intense objections than a political official trying to dictate to private actors which political content they should allow on the Internet (instead, you have Newt Gingrich demanding that Assange be declared an "enemy combatant" and Sarah Palin calling for his murder). Remember, though -- as The Post told us today -- it's "authoritarian governments and tightly controlled media in China and across the Arab Middle East" which are trying to prevent citizens from learning about the WikiLeaks documents.

That is what some members of Congress are asking after the Federal Reserve revealed the details of 21,000 transactions stretching from December 2007 to July 2010 that totaled more than $3 trillion on Wednesday. Most of these transactions involved giant loans that were nearly interest-free from the Federal Reserve to some of the largest banks, financial institutions and corporations all over the world. In fact, it turns out that foreign banks and foreign corporations received a very large share of these bailouts. So has the Federal Reserve now become a completely unaccountable global bailout machine? Sadly, the truth is that we would have never learned the details of these bailouts if Congress had not forced this information out of the Fed. So what other kinds of jaw-dropping details would be revealed by a full audit of the Federal Reserve?

It is important to try to understand exactly what went on here. Banks and corporations from all over the globe were allowed to borrow gigantic piles of money essentially for free. Yes, when you are getting interest rates such as 0.25 percent, the money is essentially free. These loans were not available to everyone. You or I could not have run over to the Federal Reserve and walked away with tens of billions of dollars in loans that were nearly interest-free. Rather, it was only the megabanks and megacorporations that are friendly with the Federal Reserve that were able to take advantage of these bailouts.

In this way, the Federal Reserve is now essentially acting like some kind of financial god. They decide who survives and who fails. Dozens and dozens and dozens of small to mid-size U.S. banks are failing, but the Federal Reserve does not seem to have much compassion for them. It is only when the "too big to fail" establishment banks are in trouble that the Federal Reserve starts handing out gigantic sacks of nearly interest-free cash.

Just think about it. Which financial institution do you think is in a better competitive position - one that must survive on its own, or one that has a "safety net" of nearly unlimited free loans from the Federal Reserve?

Now that is oversimplifying the situation, certainly, but the truth is that the Federal Reserve had fundamentally altered the financial marketplace and is significantly influencing who wins and who loses.

But even more disturbing is what the Federal Reserve is turning into. This is an institution that is "independent" of the U.S. government, that does not answer to the American people, that controls our money supply and that is just tossing tens of billions of dollars to foreign banks and to foreign corporations whenever it wants to.

In fact, if Congress had not forced the Fed to tell us what was going on with these bailouts we would have never even found out.

The truth is that the Fed is taking incredible risks with "our money" and yet they want to continue to exist in a cloak of almost total secrecy.

CNN Reporter Put On Watch List After Criticizing TSA

In light of new reports alleging that the TSA is creating a watch list of individuals who criticized the agency as a form of collective punishment, it’s revealing to note that CNN journalist Drew Griffin was also put on a TSA watch list immediately after he filed reports critical of the organization back in 2008.

Shortly after he began a series of investigative reports that were critical of the TSA in May 2008, CNN journalist Drew Griffin was placed on a watch list that at the time had swelled to over a million names. TSA claimed that he was unfortunate enough to share the name with another Drew Griffin who had been legitimately placed on the list, but then denied that he was on the list altogether and blamed the airlines. The airlines responded by saying they were merely following a list provided to them by the TSA.

“Coincidentally, this all began in May, shortly after I began a series of investigative reports critical of the TSA,” said Griffin. “Eleven flights now since May 19. On different airlines, my name pops up forcing me to go to the counter, show my identification, sometimes the agent has to make a call before I get my ticket,” Griffin reported. “What does the TSA say? Nothing, at least nothing on camera. Over the phone a public affairs worker told me again I’m not on the watch list, and don’t even think that someone in the TSA or anyone else is trying to get even.”

Given the fact that the TSA has made a habit out of deceiving the American people and spinning the truth about airport security, the notion that Griffin was deliberately targeted by the TSA as a punishment for his critical reports about the agency is almost a given.

Feds tracking credit cards, store purchases without warrant: report

Federal law enforcement routinely tracks individuals through their credit cards, cell phones, car rentals and even store customer loyalty programs without obtaining a warrant, an online privacy activist has discovered.

According to a document (PDF) obtained from the Department of Justice by online privacy activist Christopher Soghoian, federal agents working on a criminal investigation can draw up their own paperwork requesting that credit companies and retailers give the agents real-time access to purchases made by a particular person.

No court reviews these orders, and the only role courts play in the process is to issue a non-disclosure order to the retailer or credit card company involved, meaning the person being tracked will never be notified of the surveillance.

The process is known as a "hotwatch," and it can be used to spy on cell phones, credit card use, purchases at stores when a customer loyalty card is used, car rentals, and flight ticket purchases. The process "sidestep[s] any Fourth Amendment protections," Soghoian writes.

Applicants Battle Cold For Govt. Help

Despite the freezing temperatures, hundreds fought for a place in line in Marietta to apply for federal aid to help pay their heat and power bills this winter.
Only 30 people were being let in at a time at the assistance center in Marietta.

"It was freezing," applicant Linda Benefield told WSB-TV. "I was in line for three hours and 15 minutes, but I needed the help."

Some needed even more help just to deal with the cold. Ambulances were cold in and took at least two people to the hospital because of the freezing temperatures .

"People just couldn't stand the cold," said applicant Deandre Marshall. "They were not letting people in fast enough."

Marshall said people in line were crying, afraid they would not even get a chance to apply.

"I never thought I would be in the line," Marshall said. "It's almost like being in a soup line during the great depression."

A persistent myth of American history is that lone assassins were responsible for the deaths of Abraham Lincoln, John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King and Robert Francis Kennedy. But four of the Lincoln conspirators were hanged from the same gallows at the same time [1]. On June 5, 1968, after RFK won the Democratic primary in California, he was shot down as he passed through the pantry of the Ambassador Hotel. The official account maintains that he was taken out by a lone, demented gunman, Sirhan Sirhan, a Palestinian who had written, “RFK must die!”, over and over in a notebook. Like the lone, demented gunman accused of assassinating his brother, John, both murders were products of conspiracies, where Sirhan Sirhan, like Lee Harvey Oswald, was designated as the patsy.

In spite of their history, most Americans continue to believe that their nation is “an exception” and that, while conspiracies occur elsewhere, including Europe and the Middle East, especially, they do not occur at home. The truth, of course, is that conspiracies are as American as apple pie. All that they require is collaboration between two or more individuals to bring about an illegal end. Most American conspiracies are economic, but many are political, too. Franklin Delano Roosevelt observed long ago that, if something important happened in politics, you could bet it was not by accident. And that is certainly the case regarding the brothers.

The assassinations of RFK and JFK were both conspiracies. Both involved the destruction of evidence. Both involved the fabrication of evidence. Both involved framing their patsies. Both involved complicity by local officials. Both involved planning by the CIA. Both were used to deny the American people of the right to be governed by leaders of their own choosing. My purpose here is to outline how these things are done, because the agencies responsible for these events continue to employ the same techniques, not only of killing their targets but of covering them up. The more we understand how these things are done, the less likely we are to be deceived again.

The work they are doing to restore the field to it's 1863 appearance for the 150th anniversary is amazing. It's like going to a new battlefield each time I've visited the past five years. The new museum and its' restored 360 degree cyclorama painting are fantastic. Report: Homeland Security Compiling TSA Enemies List

The Department of Homeland Security is gathering names and information about anti-Transportation Security Administration activists, members of the media, and other supposed troublemakers for investigation and possible tracking, according to an internal DHS memo cited by security expert and Northeast Intelligence Network Director Douglas Hagmann.

Hagmann’s report, first published last week on the NIN website and in Canada Free Press, is causing widespread condemnation and ridicule of the U.S. regime across the internet. According to the article, Hagmann was contacted by a source within the DHS following publication of a previous article on TSA abuses entitled “Gate Rape of America.”

The secret memo was written “in response to the growing public backlash against enhanced TSA security screening procedures and the agents conducting the screening process,” explained the DHS document’s introductory paragraph. It was issued in the form of an “administrative directive” after high-level meetings between American “security” bosses like Janet Napolitano and TSA overlord John Pistole. And Obama apparently approved.

The memo reportedly labels opponents of the TSA’s heavy-handed groping, naked-body scanners, and other procedures as “domestic extremists.” Federal bureaucrats are actually instructed to identify and electronically report individuals falling under the “extremist” classification — including “any person, group or alternative media source” opposed to the TSA’s Fourth Amendment violations — to the Homeland Environment Threat Analysis Division, the “Extremism and Radicalization” branch of the Office of Intelligence & Analysis section of the DHS. The dragnet also includes anyone who “supports and/or elicits support” for people causing “disruptions.”

“It would appear that the Department of Homeland Security is not only prepared to enforce the enhanced security procedures at airports, but is involved in gathering intelligence about those who don’t. They’re making a list and most certainly will be checking it twice,” wrote Hagmann in the article, entitled "DHS & TSA: Making a list, checking it twice."

“Meanwhile, legitimate threats to our air travel security (and they DO exist) seem [to be] taking a back seat to the larger threat of the multitude of non-criminal American citizens who object to having their Constitutional rights violated,” he added. “As I have written before, it has nothing to do with security and everything to do with control.”

UN Climate Conference: Global Warming Could Double Food Prices

Even if we stopped spewing global warming gases today, the world would face a steady rise in food prices this century. But on our current emissions path, climate change becomes the "threat multiplier" that could double grain prices by 2050 and leave millions more children malnourished, global food experts reported Wednesday.

Beyond 2050, when climate scientists project temperatures might rise to as much as 6.4 degrees C (11.5 degrees F) over 20th century levels, the planet grows "gloomy" for agriculture, said senior research fellow Gerald Nelson of the International Food Policy Research Institute.

The specialists of the authoritative, Washington-based IFPRI said they fed 15 scenarios of population and income growth into supercomputer models of climate and found that "climate change worsens future human well-being, especially among the world's poorest people."

Former FBI agent says government allowed JFK assassination

A former FBI agent who investigated plots to kill President John F. Kennedy both before and after his assassination said the government failed to heed warnings and later covered up evidence after the shooting.

Don Adams, 87, said he's been told for decades to keep quiet about work he did on the suspected mastermind of the assassination and inconsistencies that point to someone other than Lee Harvey Oswald as the gunman.

"It could have been prevented, that's what bothers me," Adams said. "All these people who were involved with this thing were accomplices to murder."

Adams claims that he was assigned to investigate Joseph Adams Milteer, an outspoken critic of Kennedy.

An informant recorded Milteer talking about a plot to shoot the President from a tall building during a conversation on Nov. 9, 1963.

"If they knew this on November 9th, two weeks before the assassination, why the hell did the President go to Dallas, Texas?" Adams said. "Especially when they're talking in terms of taking him out of a tall building with a high-powered rifle?"

While the FBI and other government agencies knew of Milteer's conversation, Adams said the tape was not shared with him, even though he was the agent assigned to investigate.

Adams also claims that, after the assassination, he picked up Milteer for questioning but was told to release him because the government was convinced Oswold acted alone.
