OOPS!!!

7am Saturday - Record low for the Winter season

Temperatures plunged in Sweden overnight with a record cold for the season measured at 7am in Vittangi between Kiruna and Gällivare where it was -33.5 degrees celsius. The Swedish Met office (SMHI) also issued a class 1 warning for the coast of Norrland, upto the Västerbotten coast, where heavy snowfall continues. Throughout the day, snow will be spreading over Dalarna, Jämtland and Härjedalen causing major delays for road and rail traffic.

"There is about upto 40 centimetres of snow", says SMHI meteorologist Emil Björck to news agency TT.
