UPDATED WITH NEW PICTURES: The Rollins, Rollins, Gibbons Expedition...

Just got back from a five day road trip with my son and my nephew to see some ballgames in Pittsburgh, Chicago and Milwaukee. Along the way we visited some sites like the Fort Pitt Museum, The Willis Tower(former Sears Tower) and Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio to ride some coasters on the way home. We even got to see a tornado forming north of Pittsburgh on the drive home yesterday evening.

Our first stop was Pittsburgh on Monday where we visited the site of the old Fort Pitt which is now underneath a highway. The Museum was pretty good. The perimeter of the old forts are outlined with granite stones to give you an idea of where they actually stood.

The Pirates ball park, PNC Park, is a beauty. On the banks of the Three Rivers, it is a pretty cool setting. See for yourself...

Inside is pretty cool as well...

The Pirates beat Arizona continuing their run to the playoffs. Hope they get there.

We then journeyed to Chicago where we stayed in Wrigleyville. We took in the White Sox and Kansas City at US Cellular Field on Tuesday. The park has nothing to distinguish itself from some of the others we've visited over the years like Camden Yards or even PNC Park for that matter. It is a pretty boring new kind of ball park which also can be used to describe the game. The best thing was the fireworks at the end of the game and they were pretty lame. Here's a shot...

Pudge and some weird looking old man...

We found out that the Brewers we home for a day game on Wednesday, so we headed up to Milwaukee in the morning to catch the Brew Crew and the Reds battle it out at Miller Field. The ballpark is pretty awesome. We couldn't believe the atmosphere in the parking lot pre-game. The lots were packed by ten o'clock with almost every one tailgating. Must not be much to do in Milwaukee but party. Pretty big crowd as well. The photos were taken during BP and don't reflect the size of the day game crowd...

The Brewers pulled one off in the eighth inning with a Ryan Braun double. Up to that time the steroids hadn't kicked in for him having gone 0-3 in his previous at bats.

We headed back to Chicago and fought off the traffic in time to see my son's friend's band, the Revivalists play a rousing set at Martyrs on Wednesday night.

The next day was taken up by walking around downtown Chicago, eating at Gino's East and visiting the observation deck in the Willis Tower. We had previously had lunch at Al's Italian beef sandwich joint. Pretty good food at both places. Here are some shots of Chicago...

And a few shots of the Wrigley area and the Cubs game against those same Cincinnati Reds who took it on the chin against the Brewers the day before. Tough luck for the Reds again as the Cubbies pulled one out with a two run homer from Alphonso Soriano in the eighth inning, between the raindrops, to beat the Little Red Machine...

We were supposed to take in a fifth game on Friday in Cleveland to see our beloved Red Sox take on the Indians but we decided we can see them lose anytime so we made a quick stop at Cedar Point Amusement Park instead to ride some coasters. Rode Millennium Force a couple of times and had my head scrambled on Maverick. Two of the best I've ridden IMO. Headed home from there and drove through some of the heaviest downpours I've experienced. We thought we saw a funnel forming as we looked back on the storm. It was pretty intense. Overall, had a great trip.
