Radiation in Hawaii milk...

Japan Nuclear Radiation In Hawaii Milk 2033% Above Federal Drinking Water Limits

New EPA milk samples in Hawaii show radiation in milk at 800% above limits for C-134, 633% above limits for C-137 and 600% above EPA maximum for I-131 for a total of 2033%, or 20.33 times, above the federal drinking water limits.

With the Federal drinking water limit set at 3 pCi/l the new EPA data shows that milk collected in Hilo, Hawaii and sampled for Japan nuclear radiation contained a total contamination of 61 pCi/l. These levels are not trace amounts and as the table below shows we are not long just talking about iodine in the milk but both isotopes of Caesium as well which have half-lives of 2 years and 30 years.

Isotope Half-life Concentration Detected % Above Federal Drinking Water Limits

Cs-134 2 years 24 pCi/l 800%
Cs-137 30 years 19 pCi/l 633%
I-131 8 days
100 days inside the human body 18 pCi/l 600%

Total: 61 pCi/l Total: 2033% ABOVE EPA MAX
