Top 4 reasons you are sick
by: Derek Henry
We live in an age where sickness is considered "normal". Allergies, migraines, digestive disorders, poor sleep, lack of energy, and muscle and joint pain are considered a part of life, and not indicative of any serious illness. How did we come to accept this as normal, and how did we get so sick that we have completely turned the paradigm of what is healthy completely upside down?
Heavy metals
You wouldn't think that heavy metals like arsenic, lead, mercury, aluminum, cadmium, and nickel would be a major concern for people across the world, but some very common habits and environmental factors have exposed us to acute to chronic heavy metal exposure, which is a leading underlying cause for all our ailments.
Consider the following:
- Mercury poisoning from vaccinations and dental amalgams
- Arsenic contamination in conventionally raised chickens
- Lead found in household paint in homes built prior to 1978, and in many rice products
- Aluminum in cookware and personal care products
- Cadmium in smoke from cigarettes and factories, as well as many rice products
- Various heavy metals in pesticides and herbicides, that end up in our air, food, and water
With heavy metals this prevalent in just these sources, its clear that nearly all of us are dealing with this heavy toxic burden.
Antibiotics
Although prescribed antibiotics have been credited with saving many lives, the reality is their overuse has also created an array of digestive problems that has caused many of the painful symptoms we experience today.
Antibiotics are very effective at wiping out bad bacteria (or they were, before these "bugs" became more resistant to their application), and good bacteria. This collateral damage may rid you of the initial problem, but has also set you up for a weakened gut and immune system, which is your primary defense system to these unfriendly bacteria in the future.
Once you upset this delicate balance of gut flora you become very vulnerable to all types of infections, and this eventually leads to chronic and acute sickness, from allergies to cancer.
Malnourishment
Living in a world of continually cultivated soils that are treated with various chemicals, our food supply has become degraded to the point that some of our food has up to 50 percent less nutrients than it did 50 years ago. Combine this statistic with the fact that most foods in grocery stores are processed to the point of near extinction, with little to no bioavailable nutrients left available to the body.
If you don't give the body the nutrients it requires, basic bodily processes you take for granted will eventually be impaired, which will end in a cascade of sickness and pain.
Xenoestrogens
Perhaps one of the most common impurities we have in our systems today is xenoestrogens, also known as man-made estrogen mimicking molecules. Xenoestrogens are found in a number of places but are most common in plastic containers, lining of canned food, styrofoam cups and containers, cosmetics and toiletries, and agricultural chemicals.
These chemicals cause imbalances in our hormones, which leads directly to several problems, including:
- Poor sleep
- Raised stress and anxiety levels
- Poor energy
- Weight gain and weight loss
- Dry skin, hair, and nails
- Poor libido
- Poor concentration
Once you have upset this balance, you have set yourself up for more chronic conditions in the future.
As a result of all these factors, we've become lazy and turned to prescriptions which further escalates our toxic burden. We then pass this on, generation to generation.
Are you willing to accept that fate, or will you set a new example of health?
