Oh no! How am I going to explain this record ice in Antarctica?
The Global Warming con-men had a problem. The Antarctic ice shelf was expanding to the highest levels seen in over 40 years.
PBS / May 1, 2013: "Satellite images from 2012 showed that Antarctic sea ice reached its highest levels extent on record, evidence skeptics often point to as proof that climate change isn't happening."
The Warmists then plotted to devise a plausible sounding explanation for the expanding ice.
The Global Warmists claim that Global Warming actually causes expanding ice caps!
Daily Mail (UK) / April 1, 2013: "Climate change experts have been trying for years to explain why the sea ice in Antarctica is expanding. Now scientists claim to have found the answer – global warming. They believe the paradoxical shift is caused by water melting from beneath the Antarctic ice shelves and re-freezing back on the surface."
Nature / March 31, 2013: "Ocean warming may be a major driver of sea-ice expansion in the Antarctic, researchers report today in Nature Geoscience"
BBC News /April 1, 2013: "Melt may explain Antarctica's Sea Ice Expansion: The paradoxical phenomenon is thought to be caused by relatively cold plumes of fresh water derived from melting beneath the Antarctic ice shelves."
