A Libertarian Solution to Stop the Violence on the South Side of Chicago

Monday saw the shooting of two girls, 12 and 13, part of a series of shootings of young bystanders as the gangbanger battles rage on Chicago's south side.

The homicide rate is up 38 percent in Rhamalnd and there have been increased mob attacks downtown and on the subways.

Clearly, this is total government failure. The last desperate act of the defender of government is to claim that without government wild shootouts and robberies will be a regular occurrence. I believe that it is a myth that government protects us from such things.The activity on Rhamaland's south side is proof of that.

There is plenty of government in Chicago that has at the top a smooth talking mayor, who used to be the chief of staff to the president. There are over 12,000 police in Rahmaland. And there are plenty of taxes in Chicago, property taxes, income taxes and sales taxes. The 2012 budget forecast for the city is $8.2 billion in revenues.

And yet the city can't protect it's south side young.

Thus, I propose that the city halt all tax collections on the south side of Chicago. That all property taxes, sales taxes and income taxes be ended for all residents of the south side. Innocent children are dying. This is an epic fail of government. The mayor of Rahmalnd holds spectacular meetings to discuss billion dollar infrastructure projects that will benefit his crony buddies while the children of the south side are killed.

Rahm Emanuel has failed Chicago residents, especially those on the south side. At least when you pay protection money to the mafia, they provide protection! City taxes must be ended for southsiders now.

Next drugs must be made legal on the south side. All drugs, marijuana, heroin, cocaine, LSD, all of them. Most of the gang shootings are turf wars over drug sales. If all drugs were legal, the gang bangers would lose a major reason for existence. Drugs should be made legal so that they would be available at convenience stores, the same way asprin, coca cola and candy bars are allowed to be sold.

Guns laws should be lifted, so that anyone can carry any kind of gun they want, without any registration. Chicago gun laws are among the strictest in the nation and it is resulting in only bad guys carrying guns. If gun carry laws were eliminated, subway crime would drop immediately. There are enough people sufficiently scared when riding the Chicago subway system that these riders would start carrying guns. And thugs would get gun downed until they got the message that the good guys are carrying guns and that the good guys way outnumber the thugs.

Finally, minimum wage laws should be eliminated on the south side. If you look at the age of most of these shooters, they are generally between 15 to 16 years old. These are unskilled kids, who are most impacted by minimum wage laws. They can only be profitably employed at a much lower wage than the current minimum wage.

Bottom line: The south side needs to ditch a lot of Rhamaland government.
