They (the authorities) only profess their concern when someone tries to question the official version of what happened that day. Then they utter phrases like don't dishonor the memory of the fallen or their families. They only feign concern when it is beneficial to them.
Families of over 1,000 unidentified victims of 9/11 furious over plans to bury remains under museum
Relatives of thousands of unidentifed 9/11 victims have opposed plans to bury the human remains in a site underneath the Ground Zero memorial museum.
Families of the 1,123 unidentified terror attack victims said plans to entomb their bodies in a public museum attraction were 'offensive and distasteful'.
Developers of the September 11 Memorial and Museum want to keep the remains 70 feet underground behind a granite wall emblazoned with the Virgil quote: 'No day shall erase you from the memory of time'.
But families have described the plans as 'unacceptable', and may take legal action against developers if the attraction goes ahead.
Relatives of 9/11 victims gathered at New York's Ground Zero on Sunday to announce their opposition to the plans.
Norman Siegel, an attorney for the families, told the Huffington Post: 'The families here today say no.
'They believe that the remains should be placed in a respectful and accessible location, such as something akin to the Tomb of the Unknowns above ground and separate from the museum.'
Maureen Santora, whose son Christopher died on 9/11 two months after joining New York's Fire Department, said: 'For me personally, having human remains in a museum is just an obscene thing to even conceive of.
'If you have human remains that you know are not going to be identified, then have them interred in a mausoleum.'
Sally Regenhard, whose firefighter son Christian died also died during the atrocity, said families had not been consulted about where the remains would be placed.
She said city and museum officials have never formally informed relatives of those killed about the plans.
She said: 'On 9/11 I could not save my son.
'This is the last battle that I will be able to wage on behalf of my son.'
